Khajuraho is located in northern Madhya Pradesh in central India and is famous for being an archaeological site, known for its sculptured temples dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Jaina patriarchs. The monuments at Khajuraho were dubbed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986 and are one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. These temples, built between 950 and 1050 A.D. are famed for their beautiful and erotic rock carvings, displaying some of the finest temple art in the world.
