Umkumbe Safari Lodge is owner-managed and provides a personal, rustic and real South African safari experience.

The lodge sits on the banks of the seasonal Sand River, perfectly placed for wildlife viewing in this ‘big five’ destination.

Delicious food is served in the outdoor dining area and the boma. Enjoy your favourite tipple in the self-service honesty bar and relax in the lounge. There is a gym for those wishing to keep fit and a swimming pool in which to cool down during hot summer afternoons, plus a large deck area with tables and chairs. Two game drives per day. During the morning drive there is a stop for coffee and on the afternoon drive you will stop for sundowners, after which a night drive gives you the opportunity to see the nocturnal animals. After breakfast there is the option for a bush walk led by qualified rangers.
