With African travel becoming a family affair, Shamwari Game Reserve has opened Sarili Lodge, a new luxury lodge ideal for families.

This award-winning private game reserve, situated at the end of the Garden Route is malaria-free.

An environmentally friendly, private, African thatch designed villa with a spacious deck overlooking the Bushman’s River with expansive views of the plains. The lodge is positioned in the southern region of the Reserve. The décor emulates an old traditional farmhouse with interiors that reflect an easy living lifestyle in a natural environment.

Situated in 60,000 acres of ‘big five’ reserve within the malaria-free Eastern Cape.

Facilities include a bar/lounge area with fireplace, a dining area, a swimming pool with a shallow area for children, courtyard barbeque area, children’s menu and a child minding service. Sarili Lodge also offers a special ‘Kids on Safari’ programme where children aged 4 and older can watch a special educational film and visit the Born Free Foundation and Shamwari Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Approximately 1 hour from Port Elizabeth airport.

Children of all ages are welcome. Children 4 years and older are welcome to join game drives.

The lodge has 3 king bedded suites and two twin bedded suites and features en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, safe, mini bar, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and a private patio or balcony.
