Kumarakom Lake Resort, a member of the ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World’, is one of the finest luxury heritage resorts in India. It sits on the banks of the Lake Vembanad, a vast stretch of tranquil, emerald green backwaters, in one of India’s hottest holiday spots, Kerala.

Kumarakom is an enchanting village on the banks of the Lake. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is home to cormorants, egrets, darters, herons, teals and migratory birds like the Siberian storks.

The resort provides comprehensive business services at its Conference Hall which has a capacity to seat 85. The hall is well equipped with state-of-the-art communication systems and presentation facilities.

A choice of eating establishments: Ettukettu a multi cuisine restaurant, Vembanad a seafood specialty restaurant and bar, the Pool Pavilion serves snacks and drinks and Thattukada is a traditional tea shop. The large infinity pool and the jacuzzi are the perfect places to cool down, relax and recuperate. Ayurmana is the Ayurveda Spa where you can totally indulge yourself. There are plenty of activities for you to enjoy: backwater cruises, sunset cruises, indoor games, fitness centre, water sports including water skiing, speedboat and banana boat rides. You can visit the Bird Sanctuary, go sightseeing in Kottayam, cycling in the vicinity, village walks, enjoy evening shows of Kerala’s traditional dance drama, Kathakali.

The rooms, villas and suites at the Kumarakom Lake Resort are a perfect blend of Kerala’s traditional architectural charm and luxurious, modern amenities. They are equipped with cable TV, telephone, safe, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. There are 8 luxury pavilion rooms, 22 meandering pool villas, 23 heritage villas with private pools, 4 meandering pool duplex villas and 2 presidential suites.

There are also 5 houseboats traditionally styled, but with all the modern comforts including LCD TV home theatre, intercom facilities, cell phone coverage etc. They are air-conditioned, even in the dining room, and are fully glass-fronted to accommodate the glorious views.
