DAY 1 – LAKE NAIVASHA
Your Kenyan adventure begins with a warm welcome from Somak upon your arrival at Nairobi Airport. Your dedicated
driver will provide a seamless transfer to the hotel for you to refresh before commencing your journey.
Heading towards the Great Rift Valley, the drive of approximately 110km will take you through changing landscapes,
where you’ll pass local settlements and observe daily life, including cattle and herders along the way. You’ll arrive at the
tranquil shores of Lake Naivasha in time for a delightful lunch.
Lake Naivasha’s edges are dotted with flower farms, colonial homesteads, and charming villages, while the water itself
teems with birdlife such as fish eagles, cormorants, ospreys, and lily-trotters. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure,
soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Keep an eye out for zebra, impala, giraffe, and hippo grazing nearby. For a closer
look, you might opt additional activities* like a boat trip on the freshwater lake, or a visit to the wildlife-rich Crescent
Island Sanctuary.

Day 2 – MASAI MARA
After an early breakfast, you will set out towards the world-renowned Masai Mara. This drive of approximately 280km
will take you through diverse landscapes. Upon reaching the gates of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the landscape
transforms, and the true safari adventure begins. Keep your camera ready, as your expert Somak driver-guide will start
pointing out wildlife as you make your way to your accommodation within the heart of the reserve.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with warm hospitality and panoramic views. Enjoy a delicious lunch and settle in
before heading out in the late afternoon for your first game drive. Accompanied by your guide, you will traverse the
iconic plains, enhancing your chances of spotting the magnificent ‘big five’–lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and
rhinoceros. Nestled beside a river regularly visited by hippos, your camp offers river-facing tents where you can enjoy
close-up views of these magnificent animals.

DAY 3 – MASAI MARA
Wake up to the sounds of the bush as you embark on an exhilarating early morning game drive, a prime time for
spotting predators. Your expert driver-guide will lead you through the vast plains, increasing your chances of
encountering cheetahs, elephants, or, during the great migration months, the awe-inspiring spectacle of vast wildebeest
herds. Afterwards, return to camp for a delicious breakfast at camp.
After lunch, venture out once more for an afternoon game drive. This offers another opportunity to explore more of the
majestic Mara’s unparalleled wealth of wildlife, seeking out new sightings and capturing unforgettable moments. </p>
Alternate option for this day (own cost):
Consider an early morning hot air balloon flight over the Mara. Witness the sunrise paint the plains below, followed by a
celebratory ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast. After this incredible experience, enjoy a game drive before returning to camp for a
delicious hot lunch.

Day 4 – DEPART
After breakfast, prepare for your onward journey. As you begin your departure from the Masai Mara Game Reserve,
keep your camera ready for your last glimpse of wildlife within this iconic park. Your road journey back to Nairobi,
approximately 270km, will take you through changing landscapes.
Alternatively, for a different perspective, you may opt for a scenic morning flight from the Masai Mara directly to Nairobi
(own cost).
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will seamlessly connect with your chosen post-safari extension, perhaps a relaxing beach
stay, or proceed with your departure home, taking with you a lifetime of cherished safari memories.

Extend your holiday to one of the hotels on the Kenyan Coast of Mombasa or to one of the fabulous Zanzibar beach
hotels, for a relaxing end to this safari.
