Overview

Hwange, which is approximately 2 hours’ drive south of Victoria Falls, boasts an incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna, and an abundance of African wildlife.
 

There are over 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 bird species recorded in Hwange National Park. Hwange is famed for its elephant population, one of the largest in the world.

Elephants Eye, Hwange Lodge offers you an unforgettable experience, surrounded by wildlife in an informal and friendly setting. The attention to detail and the great service will ensure you enjoy a relaxed escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Fabulous views over 2 waterholes in front of the camp, frequently visited by elephants and other animals, adds to the feeling of being at one with nature.

Located in a 6,000 acre private concession, 13 km from the entrance to Hwange National Park.
 
There are indoor and outdoor dining areas, where delicious meals are served. After a busy day you can cool down in the pool, enjoy a well-earned treatment in the spa, or relax in the bar or lounge with your favourite tipple. A great way to end the day is to sit around the communal boma with a drink or two and discuss the days’ animal sightings. Wi-fi is available at the main building.
 
A host of activities are available including game drives, guided walks, bird watching, night game drives, a visit to an African homestead, sundowners at a waterhole and a visit to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre.

The lodge overlooks a waterhole frequented by large numbers of elephants and other game.
Nehimba is an easy and scenic 3-hour drive from Victoria Falls (2-hours of which is a game drive) thanks to its location in the north of Hwange National Park.
 
The main lodge comprises an open fronted thatch roof building, bar area, several lounge areas and dining room overlooking the lodge waterhole, plus there is wi-fi. There is a swimming pool in which to cool down. Activities include night and day game drives and game walks.
 
Situated close to the camp, is a hide, the ideal spot to enjoy the splendour of an African sunset which provides the perfect backdrop to the abundance of wildlife that come to drink their fill at the end of the day.

Rooms

There are 8 raised tented chalets with king/twin beds and en suite bathrooms with a shower and bath with a view. The camp hosts a maximum of 16 people at any given time. All chalets are spacious, private, and designed to offer the best views, with maximum comfort and authentic African detail throughout. Each day at the lodge, there will be a guide on site to walk you to and from communal areas and chalets, and see that individual needs are met at all times.
