Approximately 40 minutes from Nairobi airport, Giraffe Manor is set in 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest in the Langata suburb of Nairobi. As well as the giraffe, the property is also home to many species of birds, large families of warthogs and the elusive bushbuck.
The historic manor house has extraordinary appeal, that harks back to the 1930s. With its stately facade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, it’s like walking into the film ‘Out of Africa’: indeed, one of its twelve rooms is named after the author Karen Blixen.
Delicious food and drinks are served either in the manor or outside in the stunning garden. A massage therapist is on-site for treatments and sightseeing vehicles are available for local tourist attractions.

A limited number of guests can stay at Giraffe Manor, which is quite grand but not at all overwhelming. The house comprises six bedrooms, each named after resident giraffes (past and present). Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom, some are double, some are twin. The sixth room is a family suite which can sleep a family of five and is also suitable for the less mobile. Please note the rooms cannot be locked from the outside.
