Overview
The strict controls on bed and vehicle numbers in this community driven conservation area, ensure a high quality wilderness experience all year round.
Situated on the eastern side of the Mara Naboisho conservancy, the camp is in a beautiful, secluded valley dotted with acacia trees. It is close to both the Enniskeria River region, with its stunning granite outcrops and permanent pools, popular with the resident wildlife, and the vast plains to the north where large numbers of plains game roam and which contains an integral elephant corridor. The valleys to the west provide a scenic backdrop during game drives and are ideal for game walks.
Meals are served alfresco in a clearing overlooking the plains, or in the event of bad weather in the spacious lounge/dining tent. Picnics are provide for those wishing to spend longer times on game drives. The spacious lounge tent overlooks a natural spring and is a comfortable place to relax or read one of the many reference books available, between game drives. Unlike in the Masai Mara Reserve, walking safaris are available in the Conservancy. There is a souvenir shop selling a selection of local handicrafts, jewellery, clothing and miscellaneous items. School text books can also be bought here for donation to the local schools.
The camp is closed from 1 April to 31 May.
Rooms
Twelve guests are accommodated in the 6 luxury tents which are spacious and well furnished and have en suite bathrooms with a shower, a dresser and a flushing toilet. Triple tents are available on request.
