Born and raised in Kenya, my journey has always been intertwined with Africa’s incredible landscapes, cultures, and people. In the 1960s, while working in the aviation industry, I recognised a gap in the market for travel between London and Nairobi. That vision led to the founding of Somak in 1968—what began as a single idea has since grown into a global luxury travel brand, sharing the magic of Africa and South Asia with thousands of travellers each year. My passion has always been about creating access to extraordinary experiences—and after more than 55 years, that commitment remains unchanged.
