Malabar House

Malabar House is not just another Kochi hotel, it is a documented part of Fort Cochin’s & Kerala’s historical fabric. It dates back to 1755, when Jan Herman Clausing bought the property from Mathew Henrich Beyls. Subsequently owned by spice traders, tea traders and bankers, in 1996 it became Fort Cochin’s first boutique heritage hotel.

It is also an art hotel, home to a carefully curated collection, highlighting Kerala’s composite culture as a passage between East and West.

Malabar House is the perfect place to stay for a Kerala holiday. An array of experiences are available for all travellers, be it singles, couples, small groups, culture oriented groups, there is plenty to see and do. It is ideally located for sightseeing, shopping and backwater cruises. Jew Town with its vast curio and antique market is just 3 km away and the Vembanad Lake just an hours’ drive.

There are 17 unique rooms and suites: 11 deluxe rooms on the ground floor, 5 roof garden suites on the 1st floor and the duplex Malabar Suite. Rooms are air-conditioned, have en suite bathrooms, cable TV, telephone, mini bar, coffee maker, safe and wi-fi.
