Ishasha Wilderness Camp

A permanent, luxury tented camp nestled in the mist-swathed rainforests of a mountainside in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

This secluded retreat is located beside the Ntungwe River and offers quality accommodation is this unspoilt, off the beaten track area of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, famed for its tree-climbing lions.

The Ishasha Wilderness Camp, positioned under shady trees, is perfect those looking for a truly wilderness experience.

The camp is within the National Park and has been designed to have as little impact as possible on the pristine area, with low usage of water, power and other resources. Solar power is used for lighting with power points limited to a central area allocated for recharging cameras and videos.

In the Southern Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, not far from the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

There is a lounge and dining area, beneath a cool thatched roof, providing a relaxed, comfortable environment for dining and resting in during the heat of the day. Delicious, fresh meals, made with local ingredients, can also be served alfresco beneath the trees, next to the river.

The bar is stocked with a selection of imported and local beverages and you can enjoy a sundowner beside the fire and share your game viewing and safari experiences with your fellow travellers. Why not wake up to the sounds of the wilderness with a reviving cup of tea or coffee served in your tent.

Activities include game drives, bird-watching, bush walks and community projects.

Rooms

Ten spacious, comfortably furnished tented rooms each have an en suite bathroom and dressing area with hot ‘bush’ showers, handbasins and toilet. Each tent also benefits from a large verandah.
